The software manager relies on a helper tool for the installation. It installs the helper tool automatically on startup. If it fails to connect to the service and displays an error "No connection to helper tool service" try removing the helper tool manually.
The helper tool files that need to be removed are in the system library folder.

- Quit Devious Machines Software Manager
- Click on the Finder icon in your Dock to open a Finder window.
- Navigate to the Library Folder:
- In the Finder menu bar at the top of the screen, click on "Go."
- While the "Go" menu is open, hold down the
Option
key on your keyboard. This will reveal the "Library" option. - Click on "Library" to open the Library folder.
- Open LaunchDaemons and remove com.deviousmachines.helper.plist by dragging it to trash
- Go back to the Library folder
- Open PrivilegedHelperTools and remove com.deviousmachines.helper
- Reboot (just to be sure!)
