Did you recently download Duck 2?
If so, that’s likely the cause. There is a small upgrade fee for Duck 2 accounting the difference in pricing for the new version.
Log in to your Devious account on our website. Then visit this web page:
https://deviousmachines.com/product/duck2/
The page will automatically show the upgrade price.
There is a similar process at Plugin Boutique if you made your purchase there.
You can stay on Duck 1 if you’d prefer, you’ll just need to reinstall, you can find the Duck 1 installer under ‘Legacy Products’ on this page:
https://deviousmachines.com/downloads/
However, please note that there will no longer be updates for Duck 1 from now on.
About paid updates at Devious Machines
Minor version updates (e.g. Infiltrator 2.0->2.1) are always free. These contain things like bug fixes, compatibility updates, performance improvements or additional small features. We also have provided larger updates with batches of new features completely free-of-charge. Duck 2 is the first time we have charged an upgrade fee. It is not a general policy we have, but we reserve the right to charge an upgrade fee for a major new version of a product (e.g. Duck 1->2)
We are aware of some "industry practices" around charging customers for products that they paid for. I hope we can put your mind at ease that this is the last thing that we want to do. If you have any concerns at all, please send us an email at support@deviousmachines.com
